@natabasso Most teachers. There are thousands upon thousands of incredible teachers who live a quieter existence, not utilizing social media, not running a TpT store, who are the difference makers everywhere. Shout out to them!

When kids are deprived of play, their mental health suffers.
Over the past 50 years, the time kids spend playing outside and inside has plummeted. They're missing opportunities to bond, build self-control, be creative, and feel joy.
Free play is a key to happiness and growth.
Students getting “stuck” together on a task early on can do incredible things to help establish an inclusive and supportive classroom culture. When you burn people out, you push them out. Stars are the first to leave—they have the most opportunities.
The solution is not to pile on the perks. It’s to pinpoint the root causes of overload and design more manageable jobs.
If you want to keep people, stop exhausting them.
@heymrsbond I quit shopping and prepping on Sundays because it was making me dislike Sunday! My friend encouraged me to shop on Thursday evening. I love it because then I have all the ingredients I need for the weekend if we have company, and it gives me more time to prep and plan
Toxic cultures exploit generosity. Takers impose extra work on givers, and no good deed goes unpunished.
Healthy cultures reward generosity. People protect givers from takers, and cream rises to the top.
Helpfulness is not a weakness to target. It's a strength to safeguard.
When 9th grade students wrestled with math problems to find their own solutions before receiving instruction, their comprehension nearly doubled, compared to students learning via direct instruction only.

@GiftedTawk I think meetings could be amazing spaces for collaborative design, problem-solving, and learning from one another, but, many people who run meetings where I work do not use that time this way. They read through a list of items, and then the meeting is over.
I agree...and this is one of the most concise and clear statements I have read on the matter...
