BEANZ are down 70% over 7 days

My investment is down $2118,14 currently.

I bought this bean 4 months ago with the intention to build my brand around it.

But this investment was made in myself and my brand 'zaimiri', not in the Azuki team.

Does that mean that I don’t care?

Well… kind of.

Obviously I knew this could happen. NFTs are volatile and they rise and fall very rapidly.

I did have a couple criteria for buying my new pfp:

🔸 Maximum 1.5ETH
🔸 Recognisable & different
🔸 A strong community behind it
🔸 Established team with track record

When I started out my Twitter content journey I told myself that I wouldn’t care if price went down.

This is partially true today. I don’t necessarily care that the NFT dropped in price, because for me selling is not an option anyway. The same way that if the price increased 300%, I wouldn’t sell. My brand value is too high for that.

If we step away from the brand ‘zaimiri’ for a second, I do feel slighted as a BEANZ holder. 😭

What used to be the “second collection” got downgraded to the 3rd and maybe even the 4th collection with little to no things to look forward to.

All the benefits seem to go to Azuki holders instead, and now the trickle-down will leave even less for Beanz.

🌱 But… the point remains: this is not just my profile picture, this is part of my brand.

My brand value hasn't changed.

You could make an argument that the Azuki team fumbled so hard that it reflects badly on anyone wearing their NFTs as a profile picture.

But I feel my brand has been distanced enough to not be affected by this.

As an NFT holder, I’m down bad. As a brand owner, I’m unaffected.

This is why you build a brand.

Don't gamble on JPEGs, build a brand.
