Advise from my personal experience regarding medial aid

1. If you are going for an elective procedure (planned) call your medical aid and find out which hospital and Dr is contracted with them for the procedure. Failure to do so, they Will pay only 100% rate while your Dr charged 300% and you will be liable for the Co-payment of the hospital if it is out of network

2. If you are diagnosed with a condition, ask your medical aid for PMB forms, fill them in and be safe. You might need more blood tests, scans and other things that are paid from savings. PMB will definitely assist with those and the Co-payments

3. Whenever you communicate with your medical aid, keep your ref no, might come handy should you dispute something in the future

4. Get tested, if you are not feeling well, see a Dr. Be safe!

5. Get a GAP cover, especially if you are diagnosed with a
Medical condition. Those Co-payments and shortfalls will damage your pocket hard!!!
