Sorry to break it to you, but Preston B. Nichols was a tall tale teller, an exaggerator, that’s putting it nicely and as mildly as it can be stated. I researched The Montauk Project to the point that I’m an expert on the subject. I talked with Preston in the year 2000. He said I was a Montauk Boy, my reply was I was not. Preston didn’t meet or know or work with any of those celebrities in the music industry & if he did it was fleetingly as he didn’t get a single photo of a single one of them. There’s zero proof to his tall tales. I believe some of his stories are true but 99% of them are not, & this is after extensively researching the subject to the point that I was able to find proof that Camp Hero was operational one year after the government said it closed. I also interviewed the commander of Montauk AFB who was the commander in the late 70s & early 80s, the exact timeframe the project supposedly took place. Few to none have researched it as much as me, my advice, don’t believe everything you read. Question everything and don’t jump to the conclusion that it’s true just because someone said it was. I could tell you more on the nature of Preston but I don’t think you would want to hear it. His biggest claim to fame is inspiring the Netflix show Stranger Things into existence.

They don't care about physical damage. The point of these procedures, they argue, is to alleviate mental distress. But it's insane and unethical to treat mental issues with surgery. Where do you draw lines once you start down that path? If someone feels like they should have been born with one arm, should doctors really be willing to chop off a healthy limb to make them feel better?
