I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend.
Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.
So yesterday far right racist rioters in Sunderland threw rocks & missiles at Filipino NHS nurses on their way to provide emergency cover at the hospital.
Your silence is deafening @Nigel_Farage & your band of inciters of racist hate.
Shame on you.

Great to convene with the record 190 Labour women MPs elected two weeks ago for the #KingsSpeech
Am on the extreme right of the pic (though never am politically)
"No one would board a plane flown by a pilot with 20% training so why push unqualified MAPs onto NHS patients?"
Samuel Parker from BMA North East Regional Council speaks to #ARM2024 about the BMA's scope of practice for MAPs and the need to put patient safety first.
I cannot imagine what it must be like for the lionesses to have WON the euros, then get 2nd in the World Cup, just for Harry Kane to say ‘England hasn’t won anything as a nation for a long, long time’.
Also, female athletes have won gold at the last FOUR Winter Olympics 🙃
BREAKING
Biggest waste of all Tory PPE deals.
£1.4 billion of PPE, believed to be compliant, ordered from Full Support Healthcare has been destroyed
Equivalent to 35,000 nurses salaries up in smoke
Tories staying quiet!! 😡

This is a friend of a friend. He has been missing since March 2nd. Can people please retweet - it's strange how some missing people just don't get attention whilst others do? #jayslater#jackosullivan
Nigel Farage has called the RNLI a taxi service for illegal immigrants, Ben Habib said the RNLI should be prosecuted for people trafficking.
If you stand with the RNLI against these hate mongering b*stards.

Ooh la la! I'm off to ride the Tour de France route - yep, the ACTUAL route! Riding Le Tour is a dream come true for me - so I'm helping struggling youngsters to realise their dreams too. I'd love you to sponsor me. Find out more! https://t.co/OKyIRwlIGr
It pains me to write this message as I like to find a silver lining in everything and I’m a very grateful person.
Yesterday we were told my Dad’s cancer has spread throughout his body. After months of being medically gaslit, presenting 7 times in a&e, being sent home from hospital too soon only to find my Dad unconscious on the bathroom floor and having to call an ambulance, being laughed at when Dad said he didn’t feel well enough to go home. Only to come back in again.
For the last 3 months I’ve been advocating for my Dad and being made to feel like a dickhead. We have both been spoken to like we were being dramatic, by consultants.
3 days ago a new urology consultant at the rd&e became involved in my Dad’s care… in 3 days he’s done what I’ve been asking for people to do for the past 3 months. My Dad’s cancer has spread throughout his liver and lungs and bones and his left kidney no longer works. Even though he’s been told his treatment is working as his PSA is low so they didn’t bother to investigate his symptoms. Even thought I’ve been saying for 3 months, there’s something seriously wrong with him, I don’t think his treatment is working, please scan him… as I’m having to flush blood clots through his catheter each day.
Why has it taken months of horrific suffering and this consultant has taken action in 3 days.
My Dad deserved so much more than this. I am truly heartbroken by the whole process.
The point of this message. Patients, advocate for yourself. We may not have medical degrees but we know our bodies. If you’re too poorly to push, get someone to push for you. Doctors… we may not have a medical degree but we know our bodies. PLEASE LISTEN TO US
In 2010, 70% of you were satisfied with the NHS.
Now, a mere 24% of you are.
14 years of Tory government understaffing, underfunding & private sector outsourcing have trashed the NHS into a travesty of the service we want to give you.
What a staggeringly awful track record.
Today's Times.
The govt's new visa changes have caused an 83% fall in visas granted to health & care workers.
We have:
152k social care vacancies
121k NHS vacancies.
This is catastrophic for our NHS & care sectors.
The govt is putting anti-immigrant populism above care.
The response to our announcement has been overwhelming, with an outpouring of support and love for the service. Many people, including current and former patients as well as senior leaders and stakeholders, have shared stories of their experiences with the service and how we have impacted on their health, careers and in many cases saved lives.
On behalf of the team, we would like to thank everyone who has shown their support. It has meant so much to all of us.
We will keep you updated via our website when we know more, but please know that even if we are relatively silent, there are significant amounts of work going on behind the scenes.
We keep tweeting this because this service saves lives, saves careers and saves relationships with loved ones. @NHSPracHealth is fantastic service and we need it more than ever! Please consider signing!!
If ever we needed further proof the claps meant nothing to the government, by closing the @NHSPracHealth service they’re basically saying they don’t care if we kill ourselves.
Also very poor economics given the cost of replacing staff lost to MH long term sick leave vs savings.
