@JaredStarky yapping just to yap. hold all players accountable (see ppl with assault charges) and hold indiana and cincy accountable since Tech isn’t responsible for Sorsby. or Shut up Jared.
"It's crazy...because it's not murder, it's not beating somebody..."
Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire defends his QB Brendan Sorsby, who's under fire for gambling on his own team's football games:
Didn’t the university of Michigan get caught SIGN STEALING, which may in fact helped them win a Natty…
And Penn State basically run a pedo ring through its locker room shower…
Domestic violence…. crickets.
Gun violence… crickets
Drug dealers… crickets
Accomplice in a murder… crickets
Reckless driving… crickets.
Dude checks himself into rehab for a gambling addiction pushed by every TV network… “CFB IS DEAD FUCK TEXAS TECH”
Some of this Sorsby conversation confuses me.
Parts I understand:
1. Sorsby is clearly severely addicted to gambling. I get how that should be against NCAA rules and should result in him being banned.
2. A federal judge ruled that the NCAA can't ban him. The NCAA is appealing.
3. The NCAA (and most people) fear a slippery slope problem if athletes were allowed to bet on games. Leads to all sort of potential tampering and game throwing problems.
Parts I don't understand:
1. I don't get why Sorsby (the addict who needs help) is a villain here. He simply asked if he could play still and a judge said yes.
2. I don't get how TTU is a villain here. They haven't played him yet and if it ends up being legal (which I doubt it will) why would they not stand by their guy?
I'm pretty confident the ruling will be overturned. I think the slippery slope argument has merit and the NCAA should be able to suspend and ban athletes who bet on games. It just seems like people are losing the plot a bit with this if they want to blame TTU here.
Also, don’t blame Texas Tech for this situation, they had no knowledge of it beforehand, but with a multi million dollar investment in Sorsby they did what literally every other college would do in this situation, which is try to win and save their season.
@con_mcjunkin so you’re okay with letting felons and cheaters play. you’re okay with a team actually cheating their way to a natty & assaulters plays over some gambling Honestly just say you have no morals
@semplefipod Diego Pavia did in order to obtain a 6th Yr. but regardless that is the point buddy. the NCAA shouldn’t allowed CRIMINALS to play and ban a gambler. Sorsby wouldn’t have gone to court had he been treated like a felon. if you can’t see that that’s the bigger issue, ur the problem
@BenScottStevens we let rapists, assaulters, cheaters, & worse play and coach. Save it on gambling. The call is coming from inside the house. UM, UGA, Baylor, Penn, OSU, MSU, Bama, etc
