565 days. 💔 When Blaze arrived at the shelter, she was wearing a “support animal” vest covered in bugs—a heartbreaking glimpse into the life she had been living. For a brief moment, it seemed her story was finally changing when she was adopted, but she sadly found herself back at the shelter. Despite it all, Blaze remains a sweet, loving girl who just wants a family to call her own. She’s looking for a solo-dog home where she can be your one and only and can live with kids 13+. After 565 days of waiting, it’s time for Blaze to finally get the happy ending she deserves.

Shelter Bio:
Blaze is a 4-year-old terrier mix with a heart full of love and a silly, playful spirit! This little firecracker loves people way more than toys and will happily spend hours showing off her goofy antics and snuggly side. Blaze walks on leash like a champ thanks to her friends here at the shelter and already knows basic cues like sit, stay, wait, come. She’d thrive in a home with teens who can match her energy, shower her with affection, and keep up with her playful personality. Blaze is looking for an active, loving human to be her partner in fun…are you ready??
💔🆘️💔 Not so many shares of 10 yo SHATZI in her first 24 hours 😢 Look at that beautiful frosted face & loving eyes. This good girl deserves a retirement forever home ASAP. Adoption fees waived. info 🔽

💔 Another day ends, and Buster is still waiting.
Buster (#LA6055), a 5-year-old Shepherd mix, has been waiting more than a year for someone to see just how special he is. Rescued from Louisiana in March 2024, he has watched countless dogs find homes while he remains overlooked.
The truth is, Buster has so much love to give. He's affectionate, playful, smart, and eager to please. He knows some basic commands, loves spending time with his people, and dreams of a home where he can finally relax, feel safe, and know he belongs.
This handsome boy would thrive with an experienced adopter and older children who understand his energy and enthusiasm. Beneath his big personality is an even bigger heart that's been waiting far too long for a family of his own.
Buster isn't asking for perfection. He's just asking for a chance.
Please come meet Buster at our Port Washington, NY Adoption Center and help make tonight the last night he ever has to spend in a shelter.

18 years old. 22 pounds.
Suffy lost her home over housing issues.
She came into the shelter matted so badly the hair was hanging over her eyes. Her nails were so overgrown they were affecting the way she walks. She’s underweight, losing muscle, scared, confused, and trying to process why her whole life disappeared overnight.
The shelter notes described her as quiet and skittish. Honestly she just looks tired. Tired in the way only really old dogs do when they don’t understand what’s happening around them anymore. 💔
What got me is that despite all of it, she still ate all her food overnight. She’s still trying.
Suffy came in with other dogs and needs a foster, rescue, or adopter ASAP. Dogs this old decline fast in a shelter environment. She deserves to spend whatever time she has left somewhere soft, safe, and loved.
Please help this little old lady.
She is not on the adoption floor due to space, so please share to get her seen.

1,248 days is far too long for any dog to spend in a shelter. Dino came in as a stray, and no one ever came looking for him. Now, at just 5 years old, he’s still waiting for someone to see the amazing dog he can be. Dino would thrive as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home. He can be cautious with new people and may guard his food, but with patience, understanding, and continued guidance from a trainer to help build his confidence, we truly believe he has so much potential. All he’s ever needed is someone willing to give him the chance he’s never had. Please share Dino’s story and help us find him the loving home he deserves. ❤️

Shelter Bio:
On a cold January evening, Dino arrived at the shelter frightened, overwhelmed, and unsure of the world around him. At just 44 pounds, he tried to make himself invisible, curling up beneath a blanket in the back of his kennel where he felt safest. While we may never know Dino’s past, it’s clear that trust doesn’t come easily for him. He is a sensitive dog who will need an experienced, adult only home willing to let him move at his own pace. Dino isn’t looking for instant friendship.. He needs patience, understanding, and the time to feel safe.
The good news? He has truly blossomed since first arriving here. The people who have earned Dino’s trust have discovered a gentle, sweet dog beneath the fear. Little by little, he’s learning that the world isn’t as scary as he once believed. Dino’s future family will need patience, but the reward will be watching him grow into the loving companion we know he can be. He may take a little longer than most, but Dino is absolutely worth it.

FROM FB:
Today, while volunteering at the shelter and walking my row of dogs, I noticed a different dog in another row sitting quietly in the corner of her kennel… shaking and trying to make herself as small as possible.
I looked at her kennel card and learned her name was Hazel and she had just been surrendered yesterday . 😭💔
I decided to go sit with her, hoping I could make her day just a little bit better.
Little did I know…
she would be the one making mine.🥹
Hazel was terrified and unsure of everyone around her. But little by little, she found the courage to take one step… then another… until she came over, kissed my face, and reminded me just how sweet she truly is.
I later learned that Hazel was surrendered because the family cat repeatedly attacked her. 🥺 And through no fault of her own, she lost the only home she knew.
Hazel is only 2 years old. She’s dog-friendly, good with kids, housebroken, and crate-trained. She has so much love to give, yet tonight she’s sleeping in a shelter kennel instead of a home.
I spent a long time with her today, holding her close and reminding her that she is a good girl… that she is loved, that she is seen, and that someone still cares about her.
Before I closed her kennel door, I made Hazel a promise..
I promised her I would share her story with the world.
And I told her that I have an incredible village of people who always show up when a dog needs them most.
Now I’m asking that village for one more favor.
Please help me keep my promise to Hazel. 🥺🙏🏻😭
Share her story. Tell your friends and family about her. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, fostering, or rescuing, please consider giving Hazel the forever home she deserves.
Let’s show Hazel that yesterday wasn’t the end of her story… it was the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. ❤️

"Their owner passed away alone in his apartment. Nobody found him for three days. The dogs waited the whole time." When animal control finally arrived, Max and Buddy were sitting by the front door. Not destructive. Not panicked. Just sitting. Waiting. Doing what he had always taught them to do. They came to our shelter with nothing. No records. No vet history. No family contact. Just each other. And one old tennis ball that somebody thought to grab on the way out. That was eleven days ago. Every morning they sit at the kennel door and wait. Every time they hear footsteps they both stand up. Every time those footsteps pass — they go back and lie down together. They don't know he's not coming. They just know he always came back before. Max is 6. Buddy is 5. Both healthy. Both gentle. Both heartbreakingly good dogs. Neither one will do well separated. They have never spent a night apart. They were somebody's whole world. Now they need somebody to be theirs. If you are in the USA and you have room in your home and your heart — please share this until it reaches the right person. They've already waited long enough. Drop a ❤️ for Max and Buddy. And please — SHARE. One share could be everything.
