@Joshie_Bo Ahh gotcha. They’re prolly so overloaded right now so it’ll take some time. Supposedly they give you back pay though. Meaning $ from the time you applied even if you don’t hear back for 2 months
@zachklein@tellisjc @gfordgolf I worked for a golf course last year that made the city 900,000 dollars last year. 900,000 in pure profit. The only way the city could make more money off of that land is if they sold the land to a developer.
@zachklein@tellisjc @gfordgolf Are we discussing the best use of this land or are we trying to figure out if the land makes the city more money as a golf course or public park?
@zachklein@tellisjc @gfordgolf No, golf courses exist because the cities and counties that operate them make money. Plain and simple. If they don’t make a profit over an extended period of time they shut down.
@zachklein@tellisjc @gfordgolf 200 golfers a day times 120 plus add in food, range balls, and whatever merchandise those golfers purchase. We are looking at roughly 28,000 a day that (after expenses of running the course) goes straight to the city of SF.
Depending on the site they could just be handing some of my money back to me. So I’ll hold out for a better offer and try to hold on to my day job. But I have to say I’m flattered.
Delta--free tickets to health care staff. 4 Seasons--free rooms for the same. Hertz--free rental cars. Texas Roadhouse CEO giving up all salary to help pay employees. Let's remember these companies and similar others when the smoke clears and we have decisions as consumers.
