From summer two years ago, I went here alone. Had a picnic, listened to music that I love, wrote poems and enjoyed the sunset. Then you came, and now we did all of it together. Thank you for being alone with me. Here’s to more months and memories with you.

calling protests useless is the privilege of those who aren’t being oppressed. for the silenced, the hungry, and the abused, protests are a weapon of survival. if you feel comfortable enough to dismiss them, then you’re living off the comfort built on someone else’s suffering.
there’s something deeply powerful about seeing queer people take up space in the streets. with their blonde hair, bold makeup, colorful clothes, drag looks, or hands intertwined with the people they love. it’s a living, breathing protest against a world that once told them to hide.
