‘BLAME SWAPO’ … Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda says the ongoing tensions in parliament should be blamed on Swapo, accusing the party of appointing an “incompetent” speaker. Amupanda was referring to National Assembly speaker Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila. “Saara is a bus that was put there. I am sure that even in the middle of the night she wakes up after dreaming of Job,” he says. Amupanda made the remarks during a press conference in Windhoek on Wednesday.

TRIPS MUST DELIVER RESULTS ... Travelling abroad is depleting Namibia’s foreign reserves, president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah told Namibian businesspeople who accompanied her to China this week. She said the estimated US$500 000 (about N$8.2 million) spent on the trip must be recovered through investment. The president said the delegation owed Namibians tangible economic returns and that future missions would be measured in terms of generating benefits outweighing their cost.

I indicated in Parliament yesterday, that President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has declared corruption as TREASON during her inaugural and SONA speeches earlier this year.
I also said all OMAs are duty bound to ensure that no corruption should take place. I further called on all public servants and all MPs to report corruption to relevant authorities and such relevant authorities such as Anti-Corruption Commission must act decisively and urgently to arrest such treacherous acts of corruption.
Let’s do just that and let us all become soldiers in the fight against corruption in the public and private sectors.
