4 options strategies every investor should understand:
Cash-secured puts:
Sell a put on a stock you'd own. Collect premium. Either keep the money or buy shares at a discount. Win-win.
Covered calls:
Own 100 shares. Sell a call above your cost basis. Collect premium while you hold. If shares get called away, you sold at a profit.
The wheel:
Sell puts. Get assigned. Sell calls. Shares get called away. Repeat. Premium at every phase.
LEAPS:
Buy a call option 1+ year out on a stock you have deep conviction in. Leveraged exposure at a fraction of the capital. Selective, not frequent.
I use all four. But CSPs and the wheel do the heavy lifting. LEAPs are for rare setups when everything aligns.
