@JungNihang @PanthicPikachu @mfegoldsmith @OzSingh@prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt So are you suggesting that the 6th Guru forbid meat for the general Sikh population, but made exceptions for Warrior's?
If that's the case, given the modern context, wouldn't we default to the Gurus anti meat suggestion as we have better tech that doesn't need animals
@notsoserious12 @PanthicPikachu @OzSingh@prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt "These hukamname" are from the Guru. What the Guru commands is Sikhi.
Lets not forget the 5K's & 3/5 Amrit Banis are not in SGGSJ, should we reject those?
Bani talks about compassion. With modern technology we do not require meat to live a healthy and sustainable life.
@mfegoldsmith @OzSingh @PanthicPikachu @prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt Bhai Ji, with all due respect ji, I have seen "paintings" of Guru Nanak Dev Ji getting a Rakhri, but I still know its not real.
Paintings and historical accounts are open to misinformation. But Gurbani and Hukams from the Guru are not.
@mfegoldsmith @OzSingh @PanthicPikachu @prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt@OzSingh ji is referring to the JM facebook and Instagram pages, which were taken down to due graphic violence complaints.
The website is still up, but isnt updated much.
They have a new "Sikh Hunter" Instagram account if you want to follow them.
@OzSingh @PanthicPikachu @prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt The Original can be found in Shamsher Singh Ashok’s book on Rehitnamey and Sant Bhoop Singh’s Teeka. The manuscript that Padam used for his Rehitnama was cut up and incomplete. Ashok is an SGPC scholar.
Ji, I have read the Jhatka website and it doesn't address this point.
@OzSingh @PanthicPikachu @prabhsinghp @NijjarDiljot @JuggadiJatt The Jhatkamaryada website uses Padam Singh's version of Bhai Daya Singh Rehat, which is incomplete compared to Ashok's.
Please link he anything relating to 6th Gurus hukamnama and I will look into it
thank you ji 🙏
Dr. Ganda Singh, a 20th century famous Sikh historian, collected historical edicts and commands written by the Gurus. In his book “Hukamnamas” Pg 64, Guru Hargobind gives a clear Hukam to not eat meat, Same as Bhai Daya SIngh Rehatnama (Ashok)

@JuggadiJatt @PanthicPikachu
For example, this verse from Bhai Daya Singh’s Rehitnama explicitly speaks against the consumption of meat.
