@johnennis@PhillipODell8@DecisionDeskHQ Your comments seem to be asserting some conspiracy when polling, pre-election projection and zipcode ballot tracking all pointed to a Bass-Raman runoff. The data your respondent provided is good corroborating feedback.
@johnennis@PhillipODell8@DecisionDeskHQ It's a good data driven argument based on actual ballot request / turn-in data. This result was forecasted by tens of analyses the week before the election that noted how long Dems were holding onto ballots this cycle. Zipcode analysis showed late ballots were from liberal areas.
@TaylorBlakeWard Unless I'm missing a late result tonight, Slawinski now leads all complex league pitchers in strikeouts. And, of course, having surrendered none, leads all CLs in BB%. Should top next week's RoboScout leaderboards once again.
It's five starts, but I'm bought in. 1st rd talent.
@piratefan003 Just proceeded to strike out the side in the 4th, despite a HBP and a couple rare XBHs.
But have yourself a night, Johnny. When I saw that 96.4 mark, thought it must be a hot read, though he cranked a couple more at 95.
Am watching Slawinski's game tonight. Counted 16 whiffs in 4IP so far, 8 on the change (of 13). FSF hit 95-96 three times. 9ks (8 swinging) brings him to 30 in 21 innings vs ZERO walks.
Seems good.
@YT_OnDeck@TheGarrative9 Am Hacopian skeptical. Reduced EV and barrels since Maryland. Weak Cape numbers. Low BA for a D1 hitter. Power projection questionable. Feels like a utility profile, or another Will Wilson pick.
@UnforgivenHalos It'd definitely be a leap for Trey, currently w/ more of a utility profile, ranked as a 6-8 round guy. Wd go to school for that money. Unless the Angels pick him up overslot as a Day Two guy, as they've done of late.
But the Angels have done stranger things in recent drafts.
@hecubian_devil Or some folks actually cotton to the lifelong single-payer advocate, progressive caucus member who voted against the Iraq War when Clinton/Kerry voted for it.
VS white finance bro who made his obscene wealth in coal mining, private prisons, big tobacco, Trump casino investments.
@DavidLane47@Ty28836732@BaseballWRLD_ He accepted $7.25M without much pushback. It's lifechanging money, beyond the NIL threshold, I should think. What would the upside be in a prep pitcher turning down $7.75M? A personal bet that he could go #1 in three years? Would never happen.
@TylerMcDuf83128@CantHitWRISP Yeah, Bremner was removed from his last start due to fatigue from recent illness, which Shores was still suffering from. OC Register said both were building back up while recovering.
Neither have logged even 20 innings yet. Kade, Doyle, Eyanson, Seth pitching every week.
@DavidLane47@Ty28836732@BaseballWRLD_ Wasn't really either/or though. Seth signed for $500k less than Bremner, Kade signed for $1.1M more. Signing Kade might've meant forgoing at most 1-2 of 7 prep lotto tickets. Angels bonus pool was huge. Cd have saved on 3rd round ranked Shores as well, but went full slot at #47.
@TylerMcDuf83128@CantHitWRISP When you're talking 80-100 IP, one has a point. They're not remotely close, and Snead isn't on the same leash. Slawinski + Mitchell are pitching.
The previous explanation was viral infection β Bremner + Shores, roommates, both got it. But we're a month past that explanation.
Just for comparison sake, among the potential AAA call-ups the Angels front office had at its disposal:
Nick Madrigal: 80 wRC+
Denzer Guzman: 129 wRC+
Christian Moore: 144 wRC+
Madrigal got the call. It's some of the slightest contact in pro baseball, but it's...contact?
@BeyondTheHalo@Pokeabg123@AngelsMiLB But a 20 yo power-over-hit catcher with unicorn defense who has hit 18 HRs in 470 PAs in pitchers parks vs competition 4 yrs older? Not sure I can downgrade that unique package based on contact %.
@BeyondTheHalo@ObscureReferen@AngelsMiLB I'd like to be that bullish on Jordan, but the command has backed up somewhat this spring. Slider + change haven't progressed significantly. Wouldn't use even league-adjusted ERA to evaluate young arm in the Cal League. Still backend projection imo until command + CH come along.
@BeyondTheHalo@TylerMcDuf83128@AngelsMiLB Dig into the batted ball data on Raudi β average exit velocity is up 2+ mph YoY, 90th percentile exit velocity almost as much. Cracked the RoboScout AA leaderboards in May. 16%+ BB rate. More than contact % here. CSW% lowest of his career. 149 wRC+ out of CF.
@BeyondTheHalo@AngelsMiLB IMO I think this is way too low on Flores. It's a 70 grade glove at a critical position β one of the best defensive catchers in all the MiLB. He has a 144 wRC+ in a cold weather league, age 20. Gawlowski at Fangraphs almost dropped a 50 grade on him. Hit tool showing progress.
