The AI debate is frustrating bc I hate AI probably more than most, but the whole argument is turning into 2 things: 1) a way to bash writers for either using it, or being defensive about criticism and 2) writers getting so over sensitive and panicked that they come across as defensive and sometimes entitled.

It frustrates me that people can’t see that the entire debate is what’s causing this rift. We have to accept that AI is here to stay, and if we want to maintain any form of community like we had before, we need to stop finding reasons to criticise writers. Because if it doesn’t feel like a safe space any more, why would he do it? The incentive IS the community.

Writers are out here trying to do their thing and they (we) do feel attacked, rightly or wrongly, by the constant “if you write like x you’re either using AI or you’re a bad writer”. It makes us feel like shit. It makes people not want to write.

And readers are confused and helpless and just either want to be left alone, AI be damned, or they want a simple way to tell. Which doesn’t really exist.

AI is slowly killing fanfic spaces, and not just because of the slop that is getting churned out. It’s turning people within the community against each other. I wish I knew what to do, but the one thing that seems obvious to me is to BE KIND TO EACH OTHER!

Oh, good question! It has to be part 2. We get to know L much more and on a deeper level all while watching H experience new things 👀 They fit each other so well most of the time. I could write about it forever but I love the way we get to know L in a different way
