Hindu deities and customs are emulated in Burma. Holi is celebrated in Burma, Thailand, and Cambodia, where it is known as the 'Water Festival.' Much like the Indian Ganeshotsav, the worship of Lord Ganesha is observed there with great enthusiasm and festivity; it is known as 'Maha Paedne.'

Buddhism remains widespread in the Tharon region of southern Burma, bearing the distinct imprint of Brahmanical traditions. In 1767, when the Burmese ruler Hsinbyushin conquered Siam, he brought skilled Ramlila artists back with him. At that time, Ramlila was performed in the Siamese royal court, with even distinguished members of the royal family participating in the enactments.

Upon arriving in Burma, these artists promoted Ramlila with great zeal. Thus, the conquered Siam succeeded in establishing the dominance of its art form over Burma.
The *Ram-Yagya*—a version of the Ramayana penned by the poet Uto—enjoys immense popularity in Burma. Most *Yagya* plays are based on the narrative of this text. These theatrical performances typically run continuously for two weeks, with shows held throughout the night, drawing huge crowds of spectators.

Burma's 'Shwedangon' Pagoda (Golden Temple)
is a Buddhist temple built on a high hill, dating back two thousand years. It preserves some relics of Lord Buddha. The temple's spire is 325 feet high. The spire and other areas are adorned with gold worth crores of rupees. Its golden glow in the sunlight is breathtaking. Thick silver ingots are placed beneath its pillars as a base. The temple courtyard is large enough to accommodate thousands of people. Crowds of men and women are always present here for worship.

It still houses a large number of Buddhist monks. Describing the splendor of this temple, travel writer Norman Lewis wrote that when he reached the statue, he was overwhelmed with emotion, and tears flowed uninterrupted for a long time. Seeing the gold wealth in the temple, he named the entire country of Burma "Swarnadesh."

During the reign of Emperor Ashoka, two monks named Srison and Uttara went to that country with the hair of Lord Buddha, and then this massive temple of "Shwedangan" was built..

Relationship between Afghanistan and Bharat is beyond border and shared civilizational values.

The Gandhara region of present-day Afghanistan was under the rule of Indian Kshatriya kings in 630 AD. Even today, there are 22 Hindu temples in Kabul. Monasteries belonging to the Vairagi, Udasi, Nath, and Sannyasi sects still exist there. The local Pashto language abounds with Sanskrit words. This land is considered the birthplace of the great grammarian Panini. Gandhari, the wife of Dhritarashtra, was a princess from the Gandhara region.

Situated on the banks of the Kabul River, the city of Kabul is the ancient capital of Afghanistan. Its old name is 'Aryana'—meaning the abode of the Aryan people. Significant ruins representing Aryan, Buddhist, and Yavana (Greco-Bactrian) cultures are preserved here. While the old settlement of Kabul retains a traditional layout, the new city is vast, clean, and features skyscrapers reminiscent of Russia and America..

Women can be seen in various neighborhoods engaged in the weaving of exquisite carpets.
Nadir Shah's mausoleum and Qargha Lake are major attractions for visitors. It is said that Nadir Shah met his end here while returning after looting India. Qargha Lake, located 25 kilometers from the city, is stunningly beautiful; people enjoy boating there.
