Home, Royce Lewis hits a walk-off triple to win this one 3 to 2! It’s just the 7th walk-off in Twins history! The list includes Steve Lombardozzi, Paul Molitor, Matt Lawton, Denny Hocking, Lew Ford, Ryan Doumit and now Royce Lewis. The last was Ryan Doumit on June 1st, 2013 vs the Seattle Mariners.

Incredible! Royce Lewis with a walk off triple as the Twins win 3 to 2! The Twins had been 0-47 when trailing after 8, the only team to not win a game this year when trailing after 8, but that is no longer as they pull out the victory and climb within 2 games of the AL Central Division Lead and are just a half game out of the Wild Card. 3rd, Seth Lugo danced around 9 base runners over 6 innings to pick up the quality start. He did so by inducing 4 double plays over those 6 innings. He is just the 26th pitcher to induce 4 or more double plays vs the Twins in a single game and the first since the Rays’ Ryan Yarbrough on June 2nd, 2019.

Home, Kody Clemens had multiple doubles in this one. The last Twin to have 2 triples in a single game was Luis Arráez in a 8 to 7 win over Cleveland on June 25th, 2021.

3rd, Ryan Kreidler stole his first base of the season last night taking 3rd base after a ground rule double. Kreidler then took his 2nd bag this afternoon, again taking 3rd and eventually plating the Twins 7th run on a Jonah Heim throwing error. The last Twin to steal 3rd base in back-to-back games was Nick Gordon on September 21st and 22nd, 2021 as the Twins took a pair games in Wrigley.

2nd, Speaking of pairs, the Twins have turned to a pair of rookie lefties to start each of the last 2 days in Kendry Rojas and Connor Prielipp as the pair have combined to give up 1 run on 3 hits over 9 2/3rd innings pitched. The last time the Twins had back-to-back games started by lefties was August 27th and 28th of 2021 – when Andrew Albers and Charlie Barnes each started at Target Field against the Brewers.

1st, The Twins kicked off the afternoon with matching 3 run innings. The last time the Twins scored 3 or more runs in the 1st and 2nd innings was April 13th, 2026 when the Twins plated 11 runs over the 1st two innings vs Garrett Crochet and the Boston Red Sox. The Twins have won their last 14 games when scoring 6 or more in the first two innings.

The Twins score 11 runs on 13 hits as they take the rubber match vs the A’s in a 11 to 8 win. With the win, the Twins are now 53-54, two games better than they were last year through 107 games, when they were 51-56. It was literal Twins Day at Target Field today, so we circle the bases using that theme.

At home, the Twins bullpen has combined to toss 13 scoreless innings over the last 3 games, including 5 in each of the wins! The ‘pens' ERA in July is now under 2.75, their lowest for any month of the season.

At 3rd, Taylor Rogers picked up the win after 2 scoreless innings tonight. He had the “W” Thursday when the Twins defeated Cleveland, this is just the second time in his career he collected the win in back-to-back appearances. The other was August 27th (Cubs) & 31st (Pittsburgh) of 2022 while with the Brewers.

At 2nd, Andrew Morris walked the tightrope in a scoreless 8th tonight, runners on 2nd & 3rd with no outs, but he left them stranded. Morris earned his 11th hold since May 17th, he’s one of only 13 pitchers in baseball to earn 11 or more holds in that span. Morris has also logged a ton of innings, 47 in just 37 games. He’s tied for 5th in the Majors in innings pitched in relief since he entered the league on April 12th.

At 1st, 23-year-old lefty Kendry Rojas tossed 4 scoreless innings tonight, the 2nd time he’s done that this year. Prior to Rojas, the last Twins’ lefty starter to log at least 4 scoreless innings was Dallas Keuchel, who went 6.1 innings to beat the Pirates on August 20th of 2023. Coincidentally, the A’s signed Keuchel today. The last Twins lefty to do it at age 23 or younger was Devin Smeltzer, who had 2 scoreless starts in 2019.
