I agree virtually with almost everything you said there, but I need to also mention that the current government has wasted billions and billions on a USELESS war that has done nothing but actually make things worse off (imagine what those billions could have been used for in terms of investing in the amazing things you mentioned). I don't think this can reasonably be disputed.
