One of the issues with $COIN are the converts. It drives shorting, especially on moves higher as delta moves towards 1. Single digit millions of shares are shorted to hedge out those positions, and can be up to half or more of the short interest for the stock.
Sold $MSTR at NAV
Increased fiat reserve which now is exactly half of notional $STRC
That means 4.8BN of fiat cash earning 3.5% fiat cash is defeasing 4.8BN of $STRC preferred paying 12.63% fiat yield for a negative carry of 9.13% or 438MN negative carry per year or roughly negative carry of 7000 BTC per year.
Stupidest capital structure I have ever seen at scale in my life
Shareholders getting absolutely fucked
@nickgiva1 Because we are in a global sovereign debt crisis that only ends one way. Folks can mid curve it all they want. The end of the Wall Street era
Andy you really don’t see what’s happening here? You think this is all some normal or extended cycle? We’re going to tame inflation and then raise taxes and cut spending and grow at high rate and avoid a war and..? Why do you think you missed and continue to miss BTC and what is happening to our money? Do you ever ask yourself this stuff? These are genuine questions
@dampedspring@dampedspring we own hard money, layer one assets, because we are past the point of no return on our debt. There's only one outcome here. What else are we supposed to do? The fact that you can't see that is your blind spot, your bias.
Because they aren't an onchain company. They are a TradFI company that just launched a white labeled Arbitrum chain to pump some meme coins for you PvP folks. Their stock tokens are debt instruments and don't provide any right to the referenced shares, they have no onchain presence and as finance comes onchain, they are trailing massively to $COIN. First mover advantage is everything in a space where network effects are the primary value driver. It's why $HOOD needs to do these charades and it's why $COIN will win. @coinbase has been doing the difficult work for years now, getting ready for what's about to happen.
