When Dire Straits took the stage at Live Aid in '85, most fans had no idea why Sting joined them, but when he started singing the opening lyrics to "Money For Nothing", they realized it was his voice on the radio hit which widely went unnoticed til then 🔥 Goosebumps when Mark Knopfler finally plays that guitar riff and the crowd takes over for the drums.
I’m again imploring you to give Ron Howard’s Backdraft a viewing if you haven’t already. I don’t like Ron Howard- I love him. I grew up on his films & I still firmly believe he’s got more great films in his holster. Howard is at his best when given a meaningful story & a strong ensemble of actors. Backdraft is one of his best.
Tom Cruise’s #Digger campaign is officially in full effect. I put my faith in Cruise when it comes to his creative decisions in film because of scenes like this in Top Gun: Maverick. Cruise consistently leverages his power/influence to make real moments happen. RIP Val Kilmer.
The elevator fight in Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) just hits different, tight space, no room to breathe, and McClane fighting like he’s already exhausted. One of the best moments in the film.
Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000) got shredded by critics, but it’s hard to deny how fun it is. Fast cars, wild energy, and Nicolas Cage in his prime. Pure early-2000s chaos done right.
Mel Gibson said this in 1998 and mainstream media potrayed him as a raving lunatic. He was talking about everything in the Epstein files
He was cancelled before cancelling became a thing. No studio wanted to work with him
He would only come back to relevance after making a film about Jesus titled Passion Of The Christ. Which no studio wanted to fund, he had to use his personal money to make a Christian movie
Hollywood is the modern day Sodom and Gomorrah
