Credit to UPL. basically the sole reason we were in this game with a chance to get to Conference Finals.
But this needs to be a save… UPL in a nutshell
@CMDeDominicis@SneakyJoeSports so your source shows them similar (where Lyon also technically above in WAR), and the other shows them on polar sides of the spectrum.. so conservatively speaking, will meet in the middle.
bottom line: is UPL a guy you can fully trust when it comes crunch time (i.e., Game 6)?
@CMDeDominicis@SneakyJoeSports I’ll give you that only 20% of goalies in the league now are truly elite, even if they have bad nights.
but I’d imagine UPL is among the highest % in GA for low percentage scoring chances in the league. can’t win in playoff time with that.
@CMDeDominicis@SneakyJoeSports that’s fair.
but to what I was originally alluding to- in theory, is it really (if you can’t trust that low ceiling-high floor guy when it counts anyways, which is also what Ellis is)?
his underlying point is correct here.
@CMDeDominicis@SneakyJoeSports so… that’s the solution then? how long should we continue to wait for any proof of consistency? genuinely curious.
cause there are much better floors out there- e.g., Lyon
(& at least Helly has proven to be a workhorse regular season goalie prior)
@CMDeDominicis@SneakyJoeSports says who? sure Lyon can’t shoulder a full season at this point, but enough to be effective. I think the overarching point is you must find a better replacement for UPL..
what’s the point if you can’t trust what version of a goalie you’ll get… case & point- this playoff
