Months ago, I revealed that this man is a convicted child predator who was able to walk into a Frisco ISD administration building and view footage related to the incident without undergoing any type of background check.

After discovering this, I connected with multiple Texas legislators, and we began working on a legislative solution to close that loophole and ensure it can never happen again.

Turner then attempted to sue me, claiming I was discriminating against him because of his “identity.” It didn’t go well for him.

JURY UPDATE: Apparently there were no black jurors chosen for the trial of Karmelo Anthony.

And Dominique Alexander, who has acted as a spokesperson for the family, is already framing this as Karmelo Anthony “not receiving a fair trial”.

Dominique, is the same activist who previously stated that criticism of Anthony, after he fatally stabbed Metcalf, was rooted in “white supremacy” and “racism”.

As a refresher, he also has an incredibly long criminal past (including leading a protest in 2016 that ended with 5 police officers dead).

He has previously been convicted of:

-Felony injury after shaking a 2 year old child so violently that the child’s eyes and brain bled (he only spent 8 days in jail for this)
-Felony theft
-Stealing a car
-Forging a check
-Making a false police report
-Evading arrest

He is now using his platform to write the narrative that Karmelo is not receiving a fair trial and has utilized this entire trial to stoke racial tensions.

Reminder that Karmelo Anthony is INELIGIBLE for both the death penalty, or life in prison WITHOUT parole, since he was only 17 when he killed Austin Metcalf.

The maximum sentencing he'll receive is life in prison WITH parole.

If convicted on his first-degree murder charge, this means parole eligibility after 30 years, or half of his sentence, depending on the specifics.

DESTROYING the idea that Karmelo had to stab and murder someone to defend himself.

If a white teenager had brought a knife to a school event, escalated a confrontation, and fatally stabbed a Black teenager in the heart, there would be nonstop media coverage, protests, public outrage, and demands for accountability. There would be no shortage of people calling it evidence of racism and demanding justice.

But when the races are reversed, suddenly we’re told to ignore the obvious, suspend judgment, and accept every excuse offered in defense of the person who did the stabbing.

What makes this especially troubling is that many of the people demanding his release seem more concerned with the race of the accused than with the fact that a young man lost his life. The focus should be on the actions that occurred, not the skin color of the people involved.

Justice cannot depend on the race of the victim or the race of the accused. Either we believe in equal standards or we don’t.

A young man is dead. Another young man is facing a murder charge. The facts should matter. The evidence should matter. The law should matter. No one should receive a different level of sympathy, outrage, or accountability because of race.

Right is right. Wrong is wrong. Justice should be blind, not selective. No more two-tiered standards based on race.

Black Americans should be deeply ashamed of the way many people have responded to the Karmelo Anthony case.
