Grew up on a farm, pay was roof over our heads. First job after leaving home.
$170 before taxes for a 40 hr week and worked 2 part time cash jobs. 3 roommates, couldn’t afford a car so had a used motorcycle (year round no matter the weather for 5 years) and work was 30 miles away. didn’t have a bed, sheets or a pillow. Used my motorcycle winter gear(hand me down from an old buddy) to cover up and as a pillow on a carpeted floor. I’ve worked 7 days a week most of my life.

Gen X is the generation that started the downfall of our country. The generation that didn’t teach their kids manners or to say sir or ma’am, that gave our participation trophies, that didn’t tell their kids “no”. They wanna claim to be badasses but let their kids do whatever they wanted with no consequences.
My kids out yes sir and no sir in their texts to me. Both got through school with good grades, never even have gotten a speeding ticket, have only a couple of drinks A YEAR, never smoked, no high school pregnancies. Both have good solid jobs and one joined the navy recently. Literally both are better people than I was at their age. And I raised them as a single father with full custody (because their mother is a screwed up alcoholic Gen X) while working a full time job and running 2 small businesses. Raise your kids right and they will be good people and raise more good people.

It has nothing to do with typewriters. It’s proper punctuation. Proper punctuation and sentence structure is being totally lost because of laziness both by students and teachers. Proper spelling, punctuation and sentence structure will get you a better job than using slang and little to no punctuation.

Thanks @elonmusk for Dok Grok. It is very good. Had heart issues pop up back in September. Every dr appointment and test took 10 days to get. 3 months to get to final results. Dok Grok looked at my test results each time and gave me instant answers in language I could understand. When heart rate went very high in the middle of the night Dok Grok was there to help me understand what was happening and help calm me down. It also told me when I needed to contact my dr and what questions to ask.
