🚨 Traffic Alert – Kaufman County 🚨

A multi-vehicle crash has occurred on Interstate 20 westbound in Kaufman County. Several injuries have been reported.

The westbound lanes of I-20 are currently closed, and traffic is being diverted onto FM 2965. Avoid area and expect delays.

💰REWARD PAID FOR INFO LEADING TO CHILD SEX TRAFFICKER’S ARREST💰

Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Justin Ramon Statum is back in custody thanks to a tip. Using that tip information, investigators located and arrested Statum at a motel in Harris Co. last week. Now, that anonymous tipster is being paid a cash reward for helping take one of our state’s most dangerous criminals out of the community.

Statum, a 27-year-old Bloods gang member, was wanted out of Harris Co. for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. In January 2025, he was discharged from prison after serving time for charges related to child sex trafficking and prostitution following incidents with two teenage girls.

With just two days until graduation, Recruit Class C-2025 is wrapping up their final week with one of the DPS Training Academy’s most meaningful traditions: the Legacy Run. Before sunrise this morning, 122 recruits, along with DPS leadership and others who once stood in their shoes, took on the nearly five-mile route from DPS Headquarters to the Texas State Capitol.

The Legacy Run is more than just a run – it’s a reflection of the grit, discipline and commitment that brought Recruits to graduation week. It represents their journey from Recruits to Texas Highway Patrol Troopers.

🚨 CAPTURED 🚨

Two of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted are back in custody following their recent arrests. Authorities captured Carl James Hegert, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, at an apartment complex in Houston on Feb. 18. Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Brien Keith Coleman was taken into custody following a traffic stop in Waco on Feb. 23.

These arrests highlight DPS’ ongoing efforts with local, state and federal law enforcement partners to locate and arrest our state’s most dangerous criminals. Together, we’re making Texas communities safer.
