Started auto mobile detailing company 3 yrs ago…had a day career, but believed in this.
Gave away 15% equity for some sweat equity to a trustworthy, hard-working friend.

Best biz decision I made!
Would you be willing to give up some equity in your business (for some work in exchange), to have that person be your daily operational go-to?
If no, why not?
We own a mobile auto detailing company (3 vans)…if there’s one easy marketing lesson learned…make sure your branding is easy on the eye and easily comprehended.
The amount of leads we get from people looking out their windows or doing yard work as we drive by is staggering.
Service industries sell time…our only non-renewable resource.
It’s amazing what people will CONSISTENTLY pay for a clean car, house, or something to be delivered to them or for them.
Good (unanimous) stories of your employer trying their best to care for their team/you, but constantly fall short?
Need some qualitative stories for trainings.
What comes to mind when your employer plays off of the “we are family” lingo at all times?
Possible answers:
1. I want to projectile vomit
2. Geez, since I see/hear you so much, we must be family
3. I get 26 direct depositsthat’s where our relationship starts and ends

Because of the inefficiencies and high turnover, poor onboarding can cost a company 100%-300% of the employees salary.
Due to lost productivity, re-hiring, and fixing any issues the previous employee caused.

Over one-third of employers do not have a structured onboarding process for new employees.
What can this lead to:
- High and early turnover
- Creation of bad habits
- Hopeless attitude
- The obvious one - inefficiencies

- Amiable
- Expressive
- Driver
- Analytical

Want to get a better idea of how you come off to others (co-workers, your team, family)?
Your behavior style is the crust of the pie - the says and dos.
It helps you prepare for interactions, reactions, and avoiding time wasters.
I turned 300 questions into a 5-minute
Be very, very selective if you’re going into business with a partner. I vetted them more than my wife years ago.
Financial security/background matters…have similar definitions of sweat equity…layout roles/responsibilities/niches….PUT IT IN WRITING!!!
The list of don’t (leaders edition):
#1 - don’t be the leader who only calls, texts, or emails when you need something.
#2 - don’t ignore social cues from your team members when something beyond work may be bothering them.
#3 - don’t fall in love with your own voice.
