Texas parents deserve to know who is really in the driver seat when it comes to decisions that impact our kids who attend public schools.
Spoiler alert: it’s increasingly NOT the elected leaders you would assume have the most say in curriculum and instruction.
An email from a Republican SBOE member highlighted questions over the relationship between the State Board of Education and Legislature. https://t.co/Qls1w5stO3
Revealing comment from lead Texas book banner Bonnie Wallace. She says her crusade goes beyond sexual content to attempt to remove from schools “content that can permanently change the way of thinking of a child.” In other words, she’s at war with the whole idea of education.
@colorblindk1d@frankstrong@CaitlinPacific Public & school libraries are about access. Having access to literature shouldn’t be something just for the wealthy. It’s about education & literacy in schools. It’s about government censorship & control of ideas. But please, tell us more about the books you can buy on Amazon.
First, as pointed out yesterday: Bone was flat wrong in her initial post. She said Round Rock High School didn’t have a Bible in its catalog. It did. Her post has been shared almost 6000 times, and it’s based on a falsehood. She doesn’t care. https://t.co/hFLoVJfiPu
🚨SCANDAL in Round Rock ISD: High school libraries are stocking the Quran while the Holy Bible has been removed
According to the district’s own online library catalog, the Bible is no longer available at Round Rock High School and Cedar Ridge High School — replaced by the Quran — while it remains in at least two of the five traditional high schools.
This is the same Texas district that refused to allow Ten Commandments posters in classrooms and arrested two Christian fathers for simply speaking at a public school board meeting. @jeremywstory
🔴Muslim religious text is welcomed.
🔴The Bible — the foundational text of Western civilization and America — is censored.
🔴Christian parents are dragged away in handcuffs.
This is not neutrality.
This is blatant anti-Christian discrimination.
‼️Parents: It’s time to check your school libraries. Enough is enough.

THE TPPF INFLUENCED RE-WRITE OF THE TEXAS SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM IS A GRIFT, Y’ALL.
And TPPF implied involvement with selecting literary works at the first meeting where the required reading list was discussed, too. 👎🏻
