That's a fair point. One reason we support transparency over prescriptive mandates is because policymakers should understand actual usage patterns before dictating specific technologies.
If there's a genuine resource issue, identify it clearly. If there isn't, Texas should be careful about imposing one-size-fits-all requirements on an industry many people don't fully understand.

The proposal would require data centers to pay infrastructure costs, add electric capacity, report water and electricity usage, repeal certain tax incentives, and address local impacts.
