George took me in when I was 19 working in a town where I had no family or knew anyone . There was a rule at KHQ that you could only wear shorts when it was 90 out and we would get reprimanded if We broke it. George would change the forecast to 90 so I wouldn’t get in trouble 🤣

Sad news to pass along this morning. Longtime KHQ Weather Forecaster George Maupin passed away Tuesday in Spokane at the age of 79 with his wife Nancy and son Will at his side.
