Devils released a behind the scenes video from the war room on draft night in 2024 of Fitz and Mark Dennehy discussing picking Silayev or Konsta Helenius. Dennehy says “you got a 6’7 defenseman who can skate” on the board. I knew we were screwed if that’s the extent of evaluation
Devils have signed Silayev, 2024 10th overall pick. Draft position, size, and skating are huge pluses in terms of his projectability. Some big question marks around his KHL time, especially this past season when his ice time plummeted. Puck skills and hockey I.Q. might be issues.

I’m so done with the *just change the coach* mindset with this team. They don’t have a coach problem. It’s abundantly clear their problem is between the ears. A coach firing isn’t the message that needs to be sent. Get rid of a player and tell them there’s more to come if need be
#NEWS: The Devils announced today Goaltending Coach Dave Rogalski has been relieved of his duties.
Additionally, Assistant Coach Sergei Brylin will be taking on a new role within the organization.
