@LibDems : Gained 844 councillors and net control of one council.

Stockport and Portsmouth tipped from NOC into Lib Dem majorities.

Elsewhere, Lib Dem councillors will be kingmakers in coalition deals, meaning more seats at the decision-making table.

Their reach extends further than the left flank. The Greens took seats from the Conservatives in rural areas in 2024, and won Gorton and Denton, which was their first ever by-election victory.
