We're doing some cool stuff too @MeckaAI.
Another day, another robot.
Here's what happened this week in robotics:
- @LGUS sets up new robotics business unit directly under CEO as it makes a bet that robotics is a key part of its future business. Its already converting its R&D campus in Seoul to become the country's first "data factory" for humanoid robots with 100 units of its home humanoid, CLOiD. It's also partnered with or invested in Skild AI, NVIDIA, Robotis, Figure, Bear RObotics, Dexmate and.
- @BostonDynamics invests $100M in New Massachusetts Robotics and AI manufacturing center creating 1,250 jobs. It received $25M in incentives through the state's Economic Development Incentive Program. Moreover, they are building out their robotics value chain in Korea in partnership with Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Mobis, Hwashin Precision Co. and SOS Lab
- @gen_intuition raises $320M at $2.3B valuation led by Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, Jeff Bezos, Eric Schmidt, Nico Rosberg and researchers from DeepMind and MIT with a majority of the investment being poured into building out their compute infrastrcture on CoreWeave
- @GM lays off 1K workers and deploys 50 cobots at its Factory ZERO plant in Detroit.
- @GalbotRobotics deploys its humanoids at CATL's battery production line.
- World's first hotel run entirely by robots will open in the artificial island in Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in 2027
- AMC Robotics (NASDAQ: AMCI) invests $3.5M manufacturing facility in Bắc Ninh, Vietnam to support launch of NovaArm and expand production of its quadruped robotic dog, Kyro
- @BMW Group expands deployments with @Figure_robot 03 to tackle pick and place tasks, sorting components into a sequencing trolley
- Cobot releases its second-generation version of Proxie, its dual-arm mobile robot. Previously, they've deployed 28 Gen1s, accumulated 13K operating hours and travelled over 22K miles.
- FieldAI hits $100M in revenue via 30 global customer contracts across EU, Asia and the US.
- Tombot, leader in robotic companion dogs, raises $7M Series A3 from Caduceus Capital Partners, Wavemaker 360, the Lutheran Foundation and Florida Community Health Network to scale manufacturing, operations and accelerate commercialization.
