Large tree down in my yard. Did some minor structural damage to the house, fencing and some outdoor furniture. Happened during the severe warned storm around 5pm this afternoon. @NWSAtlanta
@jonesy_182@theliamnissan An easy google search will tell you everything you need to know. Too much info for a post here. But, here's a good article to get you started on your quest for knowledge. https://t.co/gdz1StfDz8
@jonesy_182@theliamnissan There is no 'bloat' in the NWS. They were already critically understaffed. Now it's detrimental. Offices cannot to balloon launches to gather critical data to forecast things like this. So cutting those jobs has everything to do with an EF5 tornado. There is no F5 anymore. Jesus.
@nerdybuddyx@cloakbrand Definitely avoid the dryer if at all possible. I was going through shirts like no one's business until I started hang-drying. Driers are great, but they will wear down clothes much quicker - especially graphic tees. I've noticed a vast improvement on clothing life.
@jerahgumm@CLINTON83873782 I highly recommend taking a look at the NWS article about the switch, as it goes into detail about why they made the change. >> https://t.co/PZTUNQERBS
@jerahgumm@CLINTON83873782 I've seen Twister about a thousand times, if not more lol. The reason it worked for them back then is because the F Scale was the only scale to use when rating tornadoes in 1996. It wasn't changed to the EF Scale until 2007. (1/2)
@NWSRaleigh Unlike other weather advisories, watches and warnings, frost and freeze watches / warnings are only given during the first and last days of the growing season. Since the widespread freeze last night likely killed any crops it was going to affect, these are no longer needed.
