@rydunleavy This was always a risk Webb was taking turning down OC opportunities to stay with Payton. It was always going to be risk/reward. He had to know the play calling leash would be extremely short, but four games in is a real bummer.

@tylercstafford Sent you a DM.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@JoelSimmonsss @TheAstrosLocker He’s got a no trade clause, which would complicate things. But he’s a Crane guy so not likely to happen anyway.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@AstrosFansUK @shoukAstros @TheAstrosLocker If they hadn’t spent 19m on a guy who pitches only when they have a lead after 8, could that have been spent on players that gave you MORE of a lead after 8? Bad moves have a domino effect. If no Abreu in 22, could’ve signed W Contreras in 23 1m < AAV than Hader, 2M+ < Walker.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@shoukAstros @TheAstrosLocker A5 Wagyu steak is delicious, but if buying it prevents you from buying gas for your car or health insurance for your family, it’s a silly thing to purchase.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@shoukAstros @TheAstrosLocker It’s not a bad contract for a great closer, which is what he is. My point is that unless you’re a team like the Dodgers or Mets who don’t care about payroll, it’s bad business to pay a closer that much because it takes away from what you can spend on more important positions.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@BatmanandChunk @Espngreeny That’s precisely why I DON’T think he meant just in the regular season.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@SturdyGoldWrite @Espngreeny If he meant that he would’ve said it. The man has spoken for a living for 30+ years.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@BatmanandChunk @Espngreeny Haha just such a goofy thing to say about a guy who played in the Super Bowl last year.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@robncypress I said for most of the season that the numbers to compare to Dubon this year aren’t Allen’s. I’d like to see Dubon vs what the Astros got out of LF/CF this year. He’s not a great player but he’s better than what they got out of LF/CF this year and would’ve started in OF all year.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@AdamSpolane Do you think they’d consider moving Smith to CF? If trying to contend next year, my ideal moves would be Walker+cash to AZ for Nootbar, sign Arozarena. Would still be under a 250 mil tax.

Pena SS
Arozarena RF
Alvarez DH
Paredes 1B
Correa 3B
Nootbar LF
Altuve 2B
Diaz C
Smith CF

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@JeremyBranham He’s the perfect age to be their next first baseman for 20 mil a year.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@rydunleavy Imagine how he’ll feel when he finds out that his own coach and GM just traded for a QB because they have questions on whether or not he can play anymore.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@EmbraceNAmplify @DanSchneierNFL You’re making things up. He was fantastic? 16/26, 189 yards, 1 TD against the Rams backups in week 18.

Darnold was considered a massive bust and at best backup QB until he got to Minnesota. Suggesting otherwise is just a clear attempt to craft a narrative.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@EmbraceNAmplify @DanSchneierNFL Darnold started one more game for the 49ers than you did.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@Clay_HTXSports No one needed to hear this from those guys. Walker has massively underperformed his contract for two years and because he plays in a market where fans are easy on the players he hasn’t had to hear boos hardly at all. He should be embarrassed to be batting 6th in this bad offense.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@EmbraceNAmplify @DanSchneierNFL Calling Darnold and his 63/56 TD/INT ratio and sub 60% completion percentage pre-Vikings an established veteran is amusing revisionist history. Harbaugh doesn’t run the offense to “maximize McCarthy’s strengths,” but okay.

[sports @TyreesHelmet]

@Pallilo FYI Barrosa was ineligible for the postseason because he joined the org after 9/1. That said, Wade would’ve been a better roster choice given Loperfido hasn’t faced major league pitching since July 1st! Would’ve rather had Wade facing Taylor than Velazquez in the 8th and 9th.
