I get it which is why ALOT of Black Activists stray away from heavily criticizing the left and DSA. They also strays away from bad optics that keep other Black folk from participating. Which is why I have to push back a little on Matt’s comments. He’s slowly consistently going at Black boomers now and I want to ensure we’re keeping things in perspective. Optics matters a lot and that’s OKAY, because you’re asking strangers to trust your platform. I don’t solely rely on optics but at this point it’s safe to say most Americans do
@McDozaD@umichvoter You’re missing my point and to clarify I’d like AEB to win it’s just that his support are creating vulnerabilities within his campaign with these bad optics which is part of the reason he released a statement today. My other comments to others explain more
Are Black Boomers an issue, YES. Is there more to the story, YES. And it’s the “more to the story” that yall whitewash. I can say Boomers are an issue because I am taking everything else into consideration but that’s not what’s happening with you. There were military surgical missions executed to STOP the Civil Rights Movement from evolving. THEN, corporate interests/self interest (BOOMERS) got caught up and complacent. In that order. Respect that order
I could be reading your comment wrong. No, and the mountain top speech right before MLK’s death and a lot of Malcom X’s speeches, the engine behind the Black Panther Movement, and many Black Civil Rights Activists speak to what I am about to say. They were supposed to facilitate civil rights from a “cultural” political movement to an economic one. The entire movement was kneecapped before that could happen. How are you looking past the violence, the institutions, and trillions of dollars spent oppressing the evolution of the civil rights movement into an economic one. Civil Rights hasn’t succeeded until the Black minority reflects a strong and healthy minority in the data. The same powers that tested how to knee cap asymmetric movements on Black people went global.
You’re missing my point completely and for clarification I want AES to win which is why I’m calling this foolishness out during the last days of the campaign, better a friend than opps, his supporters are creating vulnerabilities for him and his campaign which is why he released a statement this morning addressing it
The way folks are almost required to perform public spectacles of grief and pain so that people don’t forget that the state’s mercenary force executed their loved ones is astonishing.
NEWS: HOUSE REPUBLICANS are expected to release their CR today.
It is going to extend government funding until 12/4, per sources.

Netanyahu is not trying to win the Israeli elections outright. He has almost no chance of doing so anyway. As Yossi Verter explained in Haaretz, he is instead trying to shore up a bloc that will prevent the opposition from winning:
1) Netanyahu knows he can't get to a 61 seat majority. Every serious poll shows that. His advisers told him the smart play: scrap the hated Haredi laws, dissolve the Knesset, run in June. He refused.
2) Instead, in the Knesset's final week — his last chance to look statesmanlike — he buried dozens of consensus bills that were ready to go (including a metropolitan transit law to ease traffic), and rammed through laws most Israelis despise: a Basic Law enshrining Torah study and a ban on arresting Haredi draft evaders, which the High Court has already frozen.
3) Netanyahu is committing public suicide in exchange for cementing the bloc: the grateful Haredim will follow Bibi into opposition and stay loyal for the long haul.
4) The bet rests on one assumption: an Eisenkot/Bennett government won't hold. Either they fall short of 61 and voluntarily decline to form a minority government with Ra'am abstentions or they form one and it collapses like "the change government 2.0."
5) Then comes the payoff: another election cycle, or endless deadlock, with Netanyahu's bloc intact and waiting. Losing power in October is acceptable if no one else can govern either. If he is lucky, no government forms and Netanyahu remains interim Prime Minister.
6) Sara Netanyahu asked for lifetime Shin Bet protection, car and driver included. She knows losing power is very likely.
It is absolutely incredible what depths this man will sink to in order to remain in power. Will it work? He is counting on his ability to outsmart his rivals and outmaneuver them in every turn. That has always worked for him.
@Robert__Leonard@umichvoter Fair point… nobody really is paying attention. I can’t even get a RT on the investigative journalism pieces I run on my highlights but something like this is getting traction… smh I’m thankful for you engaging nonetheless
I am a leftist 😐. Yes optics matter, just like leftist dress as Palestinian refugees. I would say leftist addressing a black church in all Black head to toe, getting that photo op, and talking about those policies is AMAZING politics. If you’re a kid or something I understand. Perception snd optics matter in the Adult world. You see it everywhere
This goes for you too. You’re missing the forest for the trees. I am criticizing the dastardly optics of online leftist mocking this. Remember Black People are extremely online and see this, many of us love rushing to the comment section. On the face this is a Black Church (historically where you go to make claims to Black Community Political Organizers) and a politician is being themselves and talking to a Black audience. We see her being ridiculed for that/being called cringe and corny. What’s corny about speaking to your voters?? Leftist that cared about Black politics would’ve posted Abdul speaking to black voters in the comment section to push engagement on that or not say anything at all. But what we see in the comment section is very MAGAish. I hope this helps.
