@seattlestorm — There would be no women’s basketball — let alone professional women’s basketball— without Title IX. You can stack your team with all men pretending to be women. But be prepared to compete in the NBA.
Last night, @seattlestorm co-owner Celeste Keaton cursed out two teen girls for wearing @xx_xyathletics shirts, calling them "f*cking insane." One of them was left in tears. I tried to get security involved and was told I should email the front office.
@AwokeKnowing@r0ck3t23@elonmusk Ok so lack of government oversight was the issue in 2008? So there needs to be oversight. From who? Agree on the debt and accountability. Government fraud is rampant. He should concentrate on his companies. SpaceX is borrowing tons.
I’ve just seen a post from yet another man who thinks my position has shifted since I wrote my 2020 essay about gender identity ideology and the consequent clash of rights https://t.co/pasxBD1Hzl
For the avoidance of doubt, I stand by every word I wrote then. For instance: ‘woman isn’t a costume.’ If it surprises you that I say men don’t become women by wearing make up and dresses, you didn’t understand the essay. I’ve been crystal clear all along that I believe people are free to live and present themselves as the opposite sex if that’s what feels comfortable and authentic TO THEM. This appears to have been interpreted (most often, tellingly, by men) as ‘and it naturally follows that I, as a woman, will validate a man’s belief that he is now, to all intents and purposes, the same sex as me, and I will use only the speech he deems appropriate and will be very careful to protect his sensitive ego, no matter the cost to myself in pretending to believe a falsehood, or the loss of my own rights due to this pretence.’
Dress as you like within normal bounds of situational decency, wear lipstick, sequins and a beard if you want, call yourself whatever you like, have sex with any consenting adult you please: I wish you health, happiness and safety. What you don’t get is the power to compel my speech and belief.
When I call a man a man, I am speaking verifiable truth. It is essential to be able to accurately name sex when discussing fair sport, facilities and services for women and girls and the right of gay people not to be demonised for their same-sex attraction. In years to come, a lot of useful idiots are going to awake to the fact that they’ve been complicit in enormous harm done to women, girls, gay people who stood against the insanity, and some extremely vulnerable young people. I don’t doubt we’ll hear a lot of, ‘I thought I was just being kind.’ Such individuals, especially those in positions of power, should be asked why they never had anything to say about the loud, public, widespread unkindness directed against those who refused to adopt their fashionable, elitist beliefs, eg, the detransitioners being bullied and vilified by former ‘allies’, the whistleblowers who tried to stop an unregulated experiment on troubled children, the women who lost their careers and livelihoods by standing up for all women’s rights.
Some people appear to believe it a worse crime for a woman to call a man a man than for trans activists to call loudly and publicly for the assault and assassination of all women who refuse to bend the knee. I have never wished violence or any other kind of harm on a trans-identified person, but, like many other people who’ve defended women’s and girls’ rights over the past few years, I have received thousands of threats of death, rape and torture. The wilful blindness of those who bleat ‘both sides’ will rightly be judged harshly in times to come.
TL;DR Trans women aren’t women, and if that hurts your feelings, be grateful you live in a society where you are just as free to espouse gender ideology as I am to speak the truth. As Orwell said: ‘Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.’
@lelly0918@LibertyLog1776@saylordocs@elonmusk I am not at all arguing that. I am saying we can set up organizations that are motivated to solve problems by providing those plans before any funding comes in. If the top is solving the problem — happy to pay them.
@LibertyLog1776@saylordocs I did not know this! Perhaps @elonmusk should make these offers more broadly. Show the plan to solve the problem and make itself irrelevant.
@saylordocs CA proved money is not the solution to homelessness. What we need is leaders with great solutions and to stamp out fraud. I think we should give people awards for paying taxes and bringing real solutions to government.
We told millions of troubled and confused people around the globe that chemically castrating and dismembering themselves was the only way that they could become their true selves and avoid suicide. We told them that we would deploy state power on their behalf to ensure that the whole world joined in pretending that they were something they were not. We told them that people like them were a fragile minority who needed others to collude in unrealities in order for them to survive. We told them that they were owed a right to violate sex-based boundaries based on a claim to be the opposite sex. We told them that people who withheld affirmation of them as the thing they were not were malevolent and wished for their extermination. We told them that forcing them into the changing rooms and athletic fields and prisons and domestic violence shelters of the opposite sex was a struggle against fascism and that anyone resisted was a fascist whose refusal was itself a genocidal act. We told them that children who didn't feel comfortable in their bodies weren't comfortable because they were born in the wrong bodies and needed to have their bodies altered by manipulating their endocrine systems and cutting off healthy body parts, leaving them sterile and anorgasmic and on a medical leash for life, and that harming themselves in this way that was really "life-saving" "medically necessary" "healthcare." We told anyone who disagreed with these extraordinary, self-evidently false claims that they were failing at the minimum necessary requirements for membership in the human family and that anything that happened to them -- ostracism, the loss of their livelihoods, the loss of their right to speak or transact, ruinous financial penalties by state entities -- as a result of their transgression of this most basic human requirement was just and deserved and salutary.
@Paris_dnd Let’s make paying taxes a badge of honor — not of stupidity because you did not understand the tax code well enough. Agree we need the money well spent.
@wesyang I think what we need to know is whether they admitted biological boys. If the universe is all biological girls, whether they identify as girls or boys — yes, I would say they qualify.
