In preparation for acoustic surveying in NE Norton Sound, the R/V Sikuliaq crew did a CTD cast on Monday morning. Its measurements include conductivity (salinity), temperature and depth of the water column. The data will help select potential coring sites on the sea floor.

R/V Sikuliaq has departed Nome for latest cruise, which will examine conditions on the Bering Land Bridge during and after the last ice age. Researchers will collect sediment cores from the sea floor to reconstruct the resources and environment that existed 25,000 years ago.
