Coach Koyokoyo Buteme is a World Rugby Level 2 Rugby Coach, World Rugby Level 2 S&C Coach and a certified World Rugby Educator.

Buteme has founded or co-founded six different rugby clubs:
📌 Thunderbirdsrug
📌 Black Panthers
📌 Entebbe Sharks
📌 Walukuba Titans
📌 Black Pearls
📌 Njeru RFC (Hurricanes for men, Cyclones for women).

She is the only woman to coach two different teams to the Women’s Rugby Premiership title (Black Panthers in 2010, and Black Pearls in 2022-2025).

The first woman to officiate men’s Rugby Premiership and Uganda Cup games.

She served as the first Ugandan female touch judge at an international rugby game during the 2018 U18 fixture between Zimbabwe and Kenya in Zimbabwe. Ramsey Olinga was the centre referee while David Kirabira was the second touch judge.

Currently running 4 age grade academies for both boys and girls at Kings Park Arena and in Njeru (with Bashir Kakoko).

Our Giraffe 🦒, aka Leona Acen, had surgery on her hand today following a fracture that occurred during 15s national team training in May this year.
