Digital representation of the splendid Ishtar Gate (575 BC), as it may have looked in Nebuchadnezzar II (r. 605-562 BC) time, welcomed people to Babylon with its cobalt blue splendor.

King Nebuchadnezzar II, who dedicated it to Babylonian goddess Ishtar. Gate was located on north side of Babylon city and was part of a formal Processional Way that led into city.

Gate was more than 12m high and was decorated with constructed using glazed brick with alternating rows of bas-relief mušḫuššu  (dragons), aurochs (bulls), and lions, symbolizing gods Marduk, Adad and Ishtar respectively. Toof and doors of gate were made of cedar, according to the dedication plaque.
