Strong partnerships are essential to advancing major projects and ensuring that economic opportunities are shared among those who help make them possible.
Today, we took an important step forward by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Metis Settlements General Council (@MSGC_Alberta) to advance discussions regarding economic participation arising from the proposed West Coast Oil Pipeline (WCOP).
This MOU represents an important step toward building a collaborative framework that supports long-term prosperity, responsible resource development, and meaningful participation in one of Canada's most significant energy infrastructure opportunities.
Thank you to everyone involved for their commitment to constructive dialogue, collaboration, and a shared vision for economic growth and opportunity.

We have an opportunity to not just strengthen energy security in Canada and for our trading partners, but to help end energy poverty in developing countries.

Today, I had a wonderfully productive meeting with the @FCM_online Executive.
This week, we have the pleasure of hosting municipalities from across our country here in Edmonton to discuss the challenges facing us all and how we can work together to keep building our nation.
I'm looking forward to hearing new ideas, sharing best practices, and exploring how we can strengthen our communities, support local growth, and deliver results for Canadians from coast to coast. Together, municipalities are helping shape a stronger, more resilient future for our country.
Alberta is a province that is ready to build. But whether it’s new investment, housing, or critical infrastructure, we need a workforce that keeps up.
That’s why our government, in partnership with the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC), is helping accelerate training for skilled workers.
Through a nearly $4 million investment, CLAC is launching a two-year pilot project alongside Built to Learn that uses adaptive learning to identify existing skills, close training gaps, and help workers achieve certification faster.

Alberta is on the precipice of a new era in oil.
We have the biggest democratically controlled oil reserves in the world at a time when the world needs secure energy.
The rest of Canada is waking up to this and the vast majority support building pipelines to take advantage of this changing environment. This includes the federal government that, with the work of this Premier and the UCP, have cleared out most of the bad laws brought in under Trudeau and Guilbeault.
Industry is watching and investing in pipelines that will get Alberta oil to the U.S. and global markets and LNG facilities that will ship our natural gas to Asia and the Pacific.
More is coming.

Wow! What an incredible performance from Edmonton's Acro Crew! Congratulations on your Golden Buzzer! Alberta is cheering you on every step of the way. 👏🐕
It was an honour to join @YouthHQRD in celebrating its 50th anniversary and recognize the incredible impact it has had on young people, families, and communities across central Alberta.
The impact on generations of youth and families is a testament to the dedication of everyone who has contributed to its remarkable success.
Congratulations on 50 years of empowering young people and strengthening our communities.
It was great to attend the Olympic Plaza Transformation groundbreaking last week.
This project represents a significant investment in Calgary’s future. In 2024, our government announced $103 million in provincial funding over seven years to support the Werklund Centre and Olympic Plaza Transformation projects. Together, these projects represent an estimated $680 million in investment, including a new performing arts facility, modernized spaces and the redevelopment of downtown Olympic Plaza.
The Werklund Centre and its resident organizations play a vital role in Calgary’s arts and culture sector, creating opportunities for artists, enriching our communities and contributing to a vibrant downtown core. Arts infrastructure is important infrastructure, and investments like this ensure these institutions can continue serving Albertans for generations to come.
Congratulations to the many individuals, organizations and partners whose vision and hard work have helped bring this project to this important milestone.
Great news for women’s health in Alberta!
Thanks to a generous $5 million gift from Harold and Betty Allsopp, Alberta’s first dedicated women’s cardiovascular health clinic will be established at South Health Campus, helping more women access specialized cardiovascular care closer to home.
This gift will make a lasting difference for Alberta women for generations to come.

Speaking with Quebec's business community, I explained why past politicians and their destructive, anti-Alberta policies created legitimate grievances and caused many Albertans to lose faith in Canada.
Our job now is to restore that faith. That's why we're working with Prime Minister Mark Carney @MarkJCarney, CPC Leader Pierre Poilievre @PierrePoilievre, Premiers across the country, and industry leaders to reverse harmful policies, build nation-building projects, and grow our economy.
As provinces, we should champion one another's success and support each other's economic aspirations. That's how we build a stronger Alberta, a stronger Quebec, and a Canada that works.

Earlier this year, while in India with Alberta’s delegation, I had the opportunity to visit @hcltech and learn firsthand about the company's innovative work, people-first culture, and commitment to driving digital transformation across industries.
Today, it is exciting to see that relationship continue to grow with the inauguration of HCLTech’s Calgary office and AI Collaboration Centre. It was also a pleasure to join the Consul General of India in Vancouver, Masakui Rungsung, and other distinguished guests in marking this important milestone. This investment reflects Alberta’s strengths as a destination for technology, innovation, and talent, while creating new opportunities for collaboration, economic growth, and high-skilled jobs.
Congratulations to the HCLTech team on this milestone. I look forward to seeing the impact this new centre will have on Alberta’s growing technology ecosystem and on strengthening ties between Alberta and India.

I was so pleased to meet with Premier Christine Frechette @CFrechette in Quebec City to continue building the unique relationship between our two provinces.
From trade and infrastructure, to AI and energy, there’s so many things we can work together on. We also discussed how Alberta and Quebec can collaborate on our efforts to strengthen provincial autonomy.
Strong provinces mean a stronger Canada.
It’s been a great start to our day in Quebec City.
First, it was an honour to be welcomed by Nathalie Roy @NathalieRoyPres, Présidente de l’Assemblée nationale, and to see the Alberta flag flying atop the National Assembly for our official arrival in Quebec.
We then met with Groupe Ocean @Groupe_Ocean for a tour of its facilities, where Alberta products are shipped to markets around the world, followed by a tour of operations at the Port of Québec with CEO Olga Farman.
Thank you as well to the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations @corim_mcfrand the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec @FCCQ for hosting a keynote address and fireside chat. It was a pleasure to speak with dozens of business leaders in Quebec City about how Alberta and Quebec can work together to support business, create jobs, and grow our economies.
I call it a Qué-Berta economic alliance!

We’re seeing a rise in classroom aggression across the province—and teachers have made it clear that action is needed.
Bill 25 strengthens the Education Act to help keep classrooms safe for both students and staff, and reinforces the expectation that all students follow the code of conduct.
Because no teacher should be punched, kicked, or bitten while doing their job.
Great to speak at the Canadian Propane Association Leadership Summit in Calgary recently.
When we talk about the future of energy, we are talking about securing three core pillars: reliability, affordability, and economic resilience. Propane plays an important part of that mix—not just as a practical fuel for our communities and vital industries, but as a catalyst for advanced manufacturing and global energy exports right here in Alberta.
Our government is proud to partner with the CPA. By cutting red tape and championing a strong culture of safety, we will continue to support the innovators and builders who ensure Canadians have access to secure, common-sense energy choices.
Grieving families deserve answers, and this government is investing to help deliver them faster.
Budget 2026 includes $125 million for a new Office of the Chief Medical Examiner facility and $4.4 million to upgrade toxicology equipment. These investments will strengthen death investigations, improve the detection of emerging synthetic drugs, and ensure Alberta remains a leader in forensic toxicology.
Alberta is growing fast, and we need skilled trades workers to help build it.
It was great to join Minister Schow today to announce a $4 million investment to expand training opportunities in collaboration with the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC).
This two-year pilot project will train at least 200 eligible workers while allowing them to stay employed as they upgrade their skills.
