More Than a Triton: Elise Nishimura
For Elise Nishimura, protecting the environment is more than an academic interest. As a softball scholar-athlete and Environmental Systems major, she has found a way to combine her passion for sustainability with the platform she has as a Triton.
Through EcoAthletes, Nishimura is empowering others to take meaningful action on climate change by starting simple conversations and leading through everyday choices. Whether she's encouraging teammates to walk instead of drive, sharing what she's learned in the classroom, or inspiring others to care for the places they love, she believes small actions can create lasting impact.
Whether she's competing for the Tritons, pursuing a future in conservation, or using her voice to protect the planet, Nishimura's impact reaches far beyond the softball field.

More Than a Triton: Sophia Bell
Most collegiate swimmers find their home in a pool. Sophia Bell did too, until she began open water swimming. Here is where she found a deeper connection to friends, nature, and herself.
Recently graduated, a San Rafael native, Sophia Bell earned a B.A. in Sociology, Japanese and AAPI studies from Seventh College, with a long list of academic and. Athletic accolades to accompany her. In a new chapter, one thing stays the same; her home is the water.
Bell does not simply show a story of athletic milestones. Her story is about transformation and a sense of belonging that she forged in more areas than one.

More Than a Triton: Ginny Fronk
For Ginny Fronk, soccer has always been more than a game. As a goalkeeper, scholar-athlete, and cancer survivor, she discovered that the sport she loves could also be a source of strength, purpose, and perspective during one of the most challenging chapters of her life.
After being diagnosed with Stage 2A Hodgkin's lymphoma during her senior year of high school, Fronk leaned on the support of her teammates, coaches, family, and community while continuing to pursue the sport that brought her joy. Today, she carries those experiences with her both on and off the field, using adversity as motivation to make a difference through research and advocacy.
Whether she's making saves for the Tritons, pursuing a future in cancer research, or supporting the blood cancer community, Fronk's impact extends far beyond soccer.
