@aparag49 @PastaD01 LIGO is basically an observatory, setup to detect cosmic gravitational waves. It works on the principle of interference of light, i.e. patterns formed by superimposing to light sources. Here we have tried to make an analogous set up using lasers which can detect sound waves.

While it seems intuitive that the lowest position possible will have the least potential energy, the rotation changes the potential landscape of the bead and hoop system, interestingly there's a critical speed of rotation(omega) above which the change in potential is seen.
