🚨🔵 EXCL | Tyrique George has been told he will not be going out on loan this summer, and the decision came directly from Alonso.

The 19-year-old attacker was expected to follow the standard Chelsea academy-to-loan pipeline. Alonso ended that conversation before it could begin. He watched George’s cup appearances from this season and told Cobham staff the winger has “an unusual understanding of space for his age.”

George will be in first-team training from day one of preseason. He won’t start Premier League matches immediately. But Alonso wants him in the environment, absorbing the system.

Look at Chalobah and Tosin ball watching and marking nobody. Fofana also does this too. In this case, it's down to Chalobah to stay close to Awoniyi. But I'm not even sure he knew where the guy was.

Our CBs all have the same problem of losing markers in the box. We can only defend high and outside the box. Once our box is under pressure, I expect us to concede a goal.

We need box defenders at this club. It takes a different level of concentration and reading of the game to do that consistently well.

The high press also needs to be better. It starts from there.
