“When people want to conquer you, they first attack your culture. We’re reviving our culture, and all the traditionalists will also have May 15th as their holiday.”
~ Capitaine Ibrahim Traoré, President and Military Head of State, Burkina Faso 🇧🇫
This happened in 2024.
One night, my husband and I were returning from Oshodi with other passengers when we got stuck in traffic on the Long Bridge, just after Opic on the Kara side. Suddenly, the clutch failed, and my husband had to step out and start pushing the bus all by himself. It was already late, the bridge was very long, and everyone was scared because the area is dangerous at night, boys could easily come out from the bushes.
One after the other, the passengers got down, collected their transport fares, and left. In the end, my husband was left with only ₦1,500. Only three of us remained with him: myself, a woman carrying heavy loads, and an elderly woman.
Somehow, he managed to push the bus down the bridge and called a nearby mechanic who fixed it enough for us to make it to Mowe. I felt like crying that night, but he simply said, “There are days like that.”
Since that experience, I’ve learned to appreciate everyone, no matter their hustle, because being a man and carrying such responsibilities is not easy.
This is why kids no longer know their cousins or relatives, because their parents were told on the internet that going home for Christmas is “poverty mentality.” Meanwhile, it’s a holiday where families come together, regardless of income.
“Call on your Igbo ancestors, they are like Christian saints. Follow your kinsmen in saying 'Iseee' during prayers; it simply means 'Amen' in our tongue.”

Tinubu and his media team used a fake coup to deceive the public.
Tinubu needed to change this man because it wasn't working according to his agreement.
Lessons.
IMAM: Don't bring your religious war agenda to Yoruba land. I bought this land from my pastor friend and built a mosque with the help of my pastor friend next door.
The house behind me is his church. We have never fought. You people see me and him talk a lot. On my child's wedding day, we went together with him carrying his Bible. Whenever there is prayer at the mosque, they ask people attending to park their cars at the church.
We have been friends for years, and this religious harmony is common throughout Yorubaland. Which Yoruba family doesn’t have both Christians and Muslims? Check your own family and tell me. Please, don’t bring your religious war agenda to Yoruba land.

It’s important to note that attaching hyphens like “Lagos-Igbo” or “Delta-Igbo” is disrespectful.
An Igbo person remains Igbo, regardless of where they live or were born.

Another day to remind everyone:
Be kind. But do not be nice.
Pls don’t let anyone gaslight you.
And don’t give in to people who will not give you the same grace they want now.
Be kind. But do NOT be nice.
Happy Sunday to everyone.
