DDLFC is excited to announce the signing of Ella Raimondi to our USL W team!
Ella is a recent U of Dayton grad where she was a consistent starter all 4 years! The defender also scored 3 goals in both her jr and sr year!
Looking forward to seeing Ella lock down the backline!
@hhqsports@TheAndyKatz@GottliebShow@SethDavisHoops Nobody sent to Dayton left saying, “man this doesn’t feel anything like the ‘real’ NCAA tournament.” Been the opposite. They were usually overwhelmed at the support, hospitality, and in-game buzz. Teams also get the same winning $$ units whether bubble or 16 seed.
@DavidGPuppet …soccer in mid-Feb when it’s 17°F in Ohio w/3” of snow on a dead grass field. It’s not safe under any reasonable metric to head a rock-frozen ball on a 65yd punt. It has fractured orbital bones and left grade 2 concussions. But but…..player safety and wellbeing!
Sources: Dayton's Anthony Grant will promote assistant James Kane to Associate Head Coach.
The Flyers are also hiring two new assistants --- Jordan Talley who was at Duquesne and Nick Irvin who was at Arizona State --- to the staff.
Pit and Huntsman Center had/have facility shortcomings w/newer NCAA hosting requirements. Not sure they were/can be overcome to put them back in rotation. Omaha, Wichita, De Moines not west enough of Dayton. Vegas is bad optics.
Ten cities I'm expecting the NCAA to look into for the second opening round site:
Albuquerque
Dallas/Fort Worth
Des Moines
Denver
Kansas City
Las Vegas
Omaha
Phoenix
Salt Lake City
Wichita
I think The Pit/ABQ would be a great spot to start. Hasn't hosted NCAAT games since 2012.
Boom! Former Indiana Hoosier who was Ms Volleyball and 3rd Team HS All American. Played on U19 National Team and Top-25 former prep recruit. Didn't play much in 2025 as IU brought in a Top-5 recruiting class. Great job by the staff.

Big accomplishment. Had a lot of good runners over the years that did well individually. As a team we've moved up the pecking order. Been slow and methodical but the Flyers finally did it. Impressive.
In 1985 when the NCAA bracket expanded to 64, 22.6% of D-I schools got a bid. Today it's 18.6%. Expansion to 76 = 20.8%. UD currently fights over 3-5 non-P4 at-large invites a year. If that becomes 6-8, it nearly doubles the access -- not insignificant.
@DavidGPuppet Expansion will be sold as helping mid-majors gain tourney access, but suspicion is most of the additional bids will go to 16-14 (6-12) P4 squads w/an 11th place conference finish b/c they beat a depleted Top-10 team on a random Tuesday and fattened up the NET on 12 "good" losses.
@jsteele78 The Pit is logical choice (local support/history). Huntsman Ctr stopped hosting 20yrs ago due to lack of ADA, other NCAA requirements. If they resolved those shortcomings? Viejas and McHale Center also strong options. Vegas: bad optics given the recent gambling news.
Sources: The NCAA has initiated the final steps to expand the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments to 76 teams. The expansion is on track to be formalized in the upcoming weeks, with mid-May as the target. The 76-team tournaments begin next year. https://t.co/2ZGUjZR0uJ
NCAA also announces that two former Fordham men's basketball players have been ruled permanently ineligible for their betting activity, which was also connected to the federal probe from 2025.
NCAA says a bettor reached out to players under the guise of being an NIL agent.
🏆🏆🏆 THREE FOR THREE!
🐻❄️ In his final time wearing the green and white, @Ju_Washington14 takes home the @ohioBKcoaches North/South game MVP in Columbus! Three All-Star games and three MVP awards — congratulations young man!
✈️ Dayton is up next!
