I am deeply honored to have @UFANYC's endorsement.
There are few groups of New Yorkers I admire more than the men and women of the FDNY. They've carried this city through its darkest days and shown up for their neighbors every single shift since.
New York’s firefighters deserve a champion in Congress to make sure firehouses have the resources they need, and firefighters have the benefits they deserve. It is such an honor to earn the endorsement of the UFA Local 94, and I will fight for them in Congress with the same grit and commitment they bring to the job every day.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the honor of serving alongside him.
Funeral services were held in August of 2025. May he rest in eternal peace.
The UFA regretfully announces the passing of retired Lieutenant James F. Hartnett, Ladder 19, which occurred on August 4, 2025.

He bravely served the people of New York City throughout his career and answered the call during the rescue and recovery efforts at Manhattan Box 5-5-8087, the World Trade Center.
The UFA mourns the untimely passing of Active Duty Firefighter Karan P. Thadhani of Ladder 135.
Before serving as a Firefighter, FF Thadhani served New Yorkers as an FDNY EMS Paramedic. He will be remembered for his service, smile, and positive energy.
