Something I think about a lot: I once asked my husband why he never likes any of my social media posts and he said “Because I like them in real life.” 🤣🤣
I was tabling at a campus event last weekend when two grad students approached me separately and said they had been following me on Twitter for years. Made me miss the glory days of this platform and the fun community. Anyway, here’s my face for anyone who might be left here. 👋
Laughing because this is essentially what I do as a librarian. I tell people what would be cool to research, help them find sources and then send them on their way.
I know this is completely irrational because they are totally necessary, but out of office messages annoy me. Some are just a little too smug. We know you are out - do you have to rub it in?! 🤣
Was telling my son that I’ve had almost no conflict with people at work except for a student I supervised years ago who refused to do any work. And he said “you realize that she’s probably telling her kids the story about the mean librarian who gave her too much work to do.” 🤣
Every time I walk past this in the library I think “how many of these people know their young, cool activist self is on an exhibit panel 50+ years later?”
Years ago while out at karaoke a friend said to me “What you lack in talent you make up for with enthusiasm” and I feel like that has been my brand ever since. 🤣
While dropping my son off at school I saw this half asleep little boy stumbling down the hallway with major bed head clutching a zip lock bag of cheeze-its and it was such a vibe. 👏

So question, and sorry if this makes me sound old, but are we really supposed to be downloading apps for every store, restaurant, and event we go to? And that’s just OK with everybody now?
