KALANGALA: Nabayiga Idah of the National Resistance Movement (@NRMOnline ) has been declared the duly elected District Woman Member of Parliament for Kalangala District.
The Returning Officer for Kalangala District, Ronald Agaba, declared the results following the completion of polling, vote counting and tallying in accordance with the electoral laws and procedures.
The Electoral Commission congratulates the successful candidate and appreciates the voters, candidates, political parties, election officials, security agencies, observers, the media and all stakeholders who participated in the electoral process.

Electoral Commission @UgandaEC staff carry ballot boxes onto a boat⛵ after mid -night, deep in the night this morning, to deliver polling materials at the 115 polling stations scattered across the 84 islands that make up Kalangala District ahead of the by-election to elect the District Woman MP today. Travel on Lake Victoria is safer at night, when the lake is calm.
PICTURES: The Electoral Commission successfully dispatched polling materials overnight to the respective islands ahead of today's Kalangala District Woman Member of Parliament by-election. The exercise commenced at 12:30 a.m., ensuring that all election materials reached the 115 polling stations in time for the commencement of polling at 7:00 a.m.

The Electoral Commission today held a stakeholders' meeting in Kalangala District ahead of tomorrow's District Woman Member of Parliament by-election, bringing together candidates, political parties, security agencies, local government leaders, the media and other stakeholders to discuss polling day arrangements.
