There’s a lot more that goes down beyond who one supports in politics.

Politics is actually deeper than we see. It’s not a game of emotions but that of numbers and interest.

In politics there’s no permanent enemy neither is there a permanent friend hence, I do not completely agree with the idea of cutting people off based on who they support I mean, isn’t that supposed to be the beauty of democracy? We all must not share same ideology when it comes to politics. I am very much open minded.

The people can take collective action when it comes to changing a status quo, this kind of action is mostly by ‘struggle’ and not necessary by the ballot because we know what happens at the ballots in Nigeria.

What I keep saying is, we’re not angry enough and so we are not ready.

The event that would eventually indicate our readiness will begin from the North side of the country.

Only those with deep understanding of the political structure of Nigeria, will understand what I mean.

Meanwhile, I do not only speak as someone from the media space but also, one with political background.

To be honest, at this point, if you still think political differences in Nigeria is not enough to cut people out of your life, you’re not a bright human being at all and to put it mildly, you are foolish!!!

Look around you at the extreme poverty, the hardship, the kidnappings and kìllings! Look at how unsafe the entire country is! You can’t leave home to go to work in the morning and be 100% sure you’ll get back home safely!

It doesn’t even matter if you don’t live in Nigeria! As long as your loved ones live there, hahaha! You go de suffer too! There’s almost no difference between the cost of foodstuff in the village and cities anymore. Everywhere just hard die!!

And then, we have the most useless set of politicians, from the President to legislators to house of assembly members to governors. Past politicians don turn offices to family careers, rotating themselves and putting their children, wives, sisters, brothers, in all positions! Our country is a shitshow! Never in my life have things been so bad!

And yet, you still think politics ‘is an opinion’?

Everywhere we turn now, ‘Missing Persons’ fliers all over the place! Adults o, children o, people are just missing left, right and center!
E no de fear you? You no de fear?

Look, politics is a fight for survival right now! It’s our thin line between life and death! Look at our healthcare! Hospital no de get light and na strike upon strike every eke market day! I have lost loved ones to our shitty healthcare system! People who should not die but died! Talk to Nigerians around you and before you reach the 10th person, you must find someone who has lost a loved one to our healthcare system!

Nigeria! Even your money will not save you in our present country! You and person wey never chop this week de the same boat!

So, no, politics is not just an opinion! Never have been, but that’s even more evident now!

If you see anybody jeopardizing your future and risking your life by supporting these useless politicians that we all know mean us no good, treat that person as your enemy!

If Una still use this upcoming elections play, then, your brain is for carrying load and your own don spoil.
