Something that i dislike about T8 is how they keep buffing character's punishment. good punishment used to be a whole character archetype. drag's t7 standing punishment was terrible and they buffed it by giving him i14 b43. i dont mind it but it was part of his identity back then
I really don't get the complaints about GoD8 in Tekken
You guys wanted a rank grind that MEANT something and now it's too punishing? Not EVERYONE is meant to be at the pinaccle. Even the best fall short by a step or two.
GoD8 SHOULD only be achievable by the BEST OF THE BEST??
We wanted it to be punishing but not impossible.
You win 480 regardless and lose 10x the amount. You can go on a 5 win streak, and becuase you lost a full set (2) its equivalent to losing 20 times. Now, if you were still getting +720,1000,1200 for winning against people GoD 6-8 then I dont see the reason the loss would be -2500 essentially. The ratio doesnt add up ON TOP of not having a death match with someone, you are basically scrapping for nothing.
Now if you had endless battles they can then add +1000 for the set on the same person than after lower the amount significantly to about 720. 500, 480, 250 etc, but lets be real, this is what made TGO easier than GoD 8.
Not to mention on top of the bad but slightly better balancing, the net code is shit AND the overall health of the game isnt there for that last grind. At GoD 5-6 its already boring.
You think anyone would want to risk their points and rank on unstable connection to the server, random crashes and the best claudio in Florida, Cubic Z? Just because they cant give basic health and anti cheat to the game?
Exactly shouldnโt you be striving to separate yourself from the rest of the player base? The ranked system achieves that. If you get god 7-8 you are the best of the best.
To me , it makes sense the high ranked homies disagree but like, yall said god was fake in s1, then they added 1-8 in s2, but the point gain was so bad no one was like 6 or 7 (lol)

@Lapriz_ Exactly. It encourages playing wild which is exactly what people say they dont like. The truth is that a lot of people win using all of that dumb stuff and if it was taken way partially they would win a lot less. Skewed risk reward needs to be looked at across the board.
Every hopkick in tekken should instant tornado. Itโd make the game healthier. Characters still would get good damage and wall carry, itd just be a little less. I think its good because hopkicks have evasiveness attached to their launch (go over lows and throws, sometimes mids)
