I LOVE the holidays, and grow into them eventually, it just takes me a good 2 weeks to switch off

How hard is it to switch off in the first few days of the holidays?? I’ve had so many jobs to do pre holiday, but in the quiet moments I’m finding myself struggling! After being alert and on the go constantly in term time, I find the transition really hard🙈

Finished for summer. What an academic year. Finished at the school I was at for 6 years at Easter. Tried somewhere new for a term, then off to pastures new back in mainstream in September.

So I’m actually going back to mainstream teaching next academic year, starting with year 6! It’s been over 2 years since I’ve taught in mainstream so I’m feeling a little apprehensive, but excited!🫶🏻

Start at my new school tomorrow (well kinda, I have 3 days of training) and whilst it’s daunting, I’m so excited for a new challenge. It’s definitely made me realise I’m ready for it (as much as I’m going to miss my team)💖

Last day tomorrow at the school where I started my career 6 years ago. It’s seen me through Covid, graduating, passing my driving test, buying my first house and getting married (almost). I’m an emotional wreck tonight😢

I haven’t been on here in a while as I’ve had lots going on behind the scenes. After 6 years at my lovely school (since my NQT year!) I’m going to be moving to a new school after Easter. I’m going to a specialist provision!
