A serious incident occurred on June 25, 2025, in front of the Lycée Charles de Gaulle School in Damascus.

3. Due to the escalating tension, several members of the school administration intervened to explain that the party, which was being held with the families in attendance, could not be canceled. They explained that its purpose was simply to bring joy to the children's hearts without any provocation. They also reminded him that the School is French and most students are dual citizens of France However, he refused to understand, trying to impose his personal beliefs.

5.The parents tried to calm him down, but he doubled down on his violence, shouting, “I can throw two hand grenades at the school right now, organize a military parade on this street, and prevent anyone from entering.”

6. Faced with the immediate threat and risk of a massacre, the school administration quickly informed the French Embassy in Damascus, which immediately dispatched a special armed protection unit from the French army to ensure the school's security until the ceremony ended.

7. According to our sources, had it not been for this swift French intervention, a large-scale tragedy would have targeted innocent children and their families.

8. In response, Abu Abdul Qader loudly broadcast Quranic verses over loudspeakers, with the aim of disrupting the school festival.

9. After being informed of the situation, the Syrian Ministry of Education stated that this incident was not its responsibility.

For its part, the French Embassy in Damascus informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the de facto authorities in Damascus of the seriousness of this incident.
